Khurasan Federal Marines

As in my previous post, I discussed moving to 15mm Sci-fi gaming and modelling. Before I wanted to try Warhammer 40,000 last year I had bought a selection of minis from Khurasan. Notably the Federal Command Team (FEDERAL SET 4), Rifleman set (FEDERAL SET 1) and the heavy weapons set (FEDERAL SET 3).

I must apologise for my poor photography skills. I only have a phone camera to take shots as my last camera went missing after a break in :-(

At first I was perturbed by them as I could not seem to get a colour scheme right and after a while it miraculously came together. Which will be a problem when I come to replicate it!
I was inspired by the following blog for the colours but I am probably doing his minis an injustice by saying they are remotely inspired:
Fawcett Avenue Conscripts.

Overly, I am impressed with the miniatures range from Khurasan and am definitely a bit in love with his federal range. To be honest there is so much I want to buy from him that I need a mortgage to do it.
For now my first command squad of the Federal Army of the Orbis Union.
I painted them with Vallejo Ultramarines Blue, mixed Stone Grey and a little black to give it more of a dark grey for the guns and other devices. I finished the visors with a contrasting finish, Orange. Just to base them now, need to find a good supplier for cheap, quality bases!
